Mine was alright, it had lots of rain, service, and biking. Anyway my week started with p day. We pretty much just balled out [ played basketball]  the entire day. I basically got destroyed, but it's OK it's not my sport, and hey it just means I have 2 years to improve. Then the next day we had a lesson with Alan, he is probably our closest to baptism. He just doesn't understand a couple of things. Other than that this week consisted of mostly visits and tracting. The rain season is indeed not a joke. The "Oregon sneeze", sticks around for about 7 months so here we go I guess. It's not too bad, at least it's not like super hot in the summer. Anyway service here is fun. One project we did this week was helping someone do yard work. Their yard legit looked like it hadn't been touche...

Week 4 I’m in Oregon now

Logan.barker@missionary.org Well this week was crazy. It started off at the mtc. I didn't really do anything, other than have a devotional with Elder Rasband. That was pretty cool, and spiritual. Anyway Wednesday was the day I flew to Oregon. It was a short flight, and it was the first time I tried shake shack. Anyway I met prez, he's pretty chill, especially with music which is awesome. Then we had lunch, and drove to the mission office. Did some training, then went to a hotel. I had a queen bed, which was super nice.  Thursday started with Hotel breakfast, and more training. Then I met my dad (trainer). He is awesome, and I know I will learn a lot from him. We did some other stuff I can't remember, and then we were on our way to my first area. My first area is Lebanon Oregon. It is kind of ghetto but it's alright. Lots of homeless people, and shady houses, and the most random thing is there is turkeys just walking around everywhere. My first area is a car share so mo...

Week 3

This week was so awesome. It started off with conference. Conference in the MTC is an awesome experience. I loved every session, although I may have fallen asleep for one of them. However I had multiple pages of notes for the first time. Anyway President Nelson's talk about overcoming the world was pretty good. The world is an evil place, and through Christ we can truly be in the world but not of the world. President Nelson said "In coming days we will see the greatest manifestations of the Saviors power that the world has ever seen", that was a powerful statement that made me want to take action. I hope that you will all heed the prophets council and strive to overcome the world. Anyway after conference weekend we started Monday with some service, it was super easy just vacuuming and setting up chairs. It was awesome to serve the Lord in the MTC. The rest of week was mostly classes, increasingly more gross meals, and crazy nights. I got my football stuck in a tree, but ...

Week 2

Hey guys! This week was awesome and awful. I started the week up in Utah hanging with my grandparents for a little bit. It was cool to see them before I left. Anyway Wednesday was the day. Got to see Salt Lake in the morning, and then it was time to say bye to my family. It was super hard to say bye but I know the Lord will bless us both. Anyway the MTC is awesome!! It has a huge campus with tons of missionaries. On Wednesday I was welcomed, and I got to meet my companion and district in person. My room has 6 people in it. And by hour 1 in the room everyone was sweating, and the room smelt horrible. Other than that the room isn't too bad, we all have our own closet, and there is a decent amount of room. However the bathroom is a completely different story, the floor tiles are like yellow, and something is always broken. On a different topic other than the resident halls, our classroom is super nice, and the spirit is always there. Exercise time is super fun. They have basketball ...
