Week 27 Packed Week!

Image
Logan.barker@missionary.org 3/28/23 Hey guys! I hope you all had a great week. This week was crazy. So first we got to start off with p day. P day was amazing! One great thing about Oregon, is how beautiful it is. So naturally we had to go and see all the beautiful spots around here. It was insane. First off I learned never give an Arizona boy some snow. I haven't seen snow like that for like 4 years it was crazy. So naturally, we had to play in the snow, and of course we didn't have snow clothes, so we probably didn't think it through, but hey it was still fun. Anyway we went and saw a waterfall, and this place called blue pool. Then we found an abandoned ski resort. I would go into detail but this email would be insanely long. Anyway it was a blast and we saw so many awesome things! However that was just the beginning of this week. Wednesday was one of my most packed days on the mission. It was like a lesson gauntlet. A lesson at 12, then at 1, another one  at 2:30 , din...

Week 26 Consistent Effort

Logan.barker@missionary.org 3/22/23 Hey guys! I hope your week has gone well, and you have grown closer to your Savior. My week wasn't the most exciting, however I hit my 6 month mark of being a missionary. It has been crazy how fast this time has flown by! I have already learned so much and been able to see the Lord's hand abundantly in my life.  Anyway this week went by pretty fast. I think after 6 months I am starting to figure out kind of what being a missionary is like. The main big event was Friday. We were walking on our way to a visit, and this guy across the road was like hey are you the missionaries? Of course we were like yeah we are! We started talking, and he invited us to walk with him to go pick up some food. So we did, and we were just talking the whole time. He was telling us about his time at military school, and his life. It was cool to be able to talk with him. After he got his food we invited him to come to our wards St Patrick's day party. He was like ...

Week 25 Service!

Logan.Barker@missionary.org 3/15/23  Hey guys, I hope you have had a great week! Hopefully you were able to see the Lord's hand in your life, and be able to share your light!  This week was literally just service. Like two days this week were all service. Our first service project was bailing hay. It gave us a good workout because each bail was 100+ pounds. But we knocked it out super fast. The next one was helping a hoarder clean up their yard. I saw some of the most random stuff ever. Like random metal poles, some buckets, recliner parts, etc. However as crazy as it was we got alot done, and the yard looked alot better after. Those projects were actually pretty fun, and we did alot.  The next days service project was a little different. We helped this lady move for 4 and a half hours. She was moving in the same complex so luckily it wasn't too far. But wow she had alot of stuff for one lady. Like it was funny we would move a whole bunch of stuff, and she would say oh we...

Week 24 I Love This Gospel!

Logan.barker@missionary.org  Hey guys! I hope you're all doing well, and you had a great week! My week went pretty well, I am finally kind of learning how to study, and apply what I learn into our lessons with friends.  The theme of this week could probably be blessings actually. One of the best things about being a missionary, is always being able to be there for people. On Tuesday, we were in our apartment, and we get a call saying that our member needed help giving a blessing. Luckily we had our lesson move, so we had the time to go help with that. The blessing was a very good and needed blessing. The other blessing experience this week was on Thursday. Our friend Alan, after we rushed him to the emergency room, ended up in a rehab center. So we eventually found him, turns out missionaries are great at finding people, especially those who don't want to be found. Luckily Alan wanted to see us, we walked in the rehab center, and nobody said anything to us, like at all. So we ...
