Week 17 Zone Conference and Visits

Hey guys! I hope you had great week. Not much exciting stuff happened so I'll give a quick run down on people we are teaching. First, Treva is a 9 year girl with big heart and an even bigger testimony. She flew through the lessons, met all the commitments, and is now getting baptized on the 28th. Next is Alan, he is an older gentleman, who loves having us over. We have been teaching him the whole time I have been here, so it's been fun to meet with him every week. He knows almost everything about our church and what we believe in, he is even in Helaman right now, which is so awesome. Ernie is another 9 year old kid, and I love going over to his house, because he is just like my younger brother Landon. We are almost through all of the lessons with him, and he is working his way through the Book of Mormon. This week we plan to put him on date, so next week I might have exciting news. Debbie is an awesome person, who we are slowly being able to teach. She came to the special stake conference with Elder Bednar, and she almost came to church yesterday, she is just getting better from being sick for a while, so hopefully we can be meeting with her more. Next is Brenna, she is the one I talked about last week. She has definitely been prepared, and God has put his trust in us to bring her to her Savior. We have taught her two lessons, both with almost no questions, so either she just gets it all, or we need to find a way to get her comfortable with asking us questions. Either way she's awesome, she brings her son and Dad as well so it is so cool! Lastly we have Joe. I found him about a transfer and a half ago, and he loves God and Jesus Christ so much, we have taught him a little, but most of our conversations are deep topics that require alot of thought so it good for me to learn to think like that. Anyway that's who I'm teaching right now, I love them all, and am excited God is letting me get to know them and teach them. This week we had a fun district service project at a farm, so I got to do some farm work 😀. Elder Hamblin is slowly getting to know the area, and the people we are teaching. Zone conference this week was fun, and a great spiritual feast. This week one thing I am trying to study alot on is the Atonement of Jesus Christ. It really has no limit, no end, he knows exactly what you are going through, and can help you. Because of him, we can find rest in this crazy world, just like our prophet talked about. One thing I would challenge you all this week to do is to daily repent. Try each day to be a little better, and let Jesus Christ into your life. Not only is he your Savior, he is your older brother, and your best friend, that can help you with anything. How cool is that, our king is also our friend, who is always extending his hand. One thing I remember from Elder Bednars stake conference is he said that everyone can have a personal covenant relationship with our Savior. I hope you all have a great week, and see lots of miracles, with Christ's hand in your life. Week 6 Happy Halloween

  This week was awesome! Not much rain surprisingly but it was still fun. My week started with p day of course, and like last week we played ball the whole day, I'm still bad. The week started with exchanges. It was super fun, and cool to be able to learn from my ZL. The cool part about it is he is from my stake back home in Arizona. Anyway during the exchange we taught a super cool guy named Rusty. We taught him the Restoration, and had a good lesson. Overall the exchange was fun, and I learned a lot. The next day was zone conference. Zone conference is basically a time for us to get trained by our mission president, the tech specs, and the APs. Is was such an awesome experience, and I definitely felt the spirit. We talked a lot about the Restoration and the Book of Mormon. Also we had PMG trivia, and me and my comp won one round and got prizes. After that Thursday and Saturday were pretty much the same old same old. Bike or drive around. Week 102 Mission Update

 Week 102 Mission Update 9/2/2024 Hey guys I figured I should write an email, seeing as I only have one month left. Last time I wrote I was in Brownsville and I had Elder Lash as my companion. Since then transfers have happened...and alot since that.  The rest of my transfer with Elder Lash was good we worked hard and saw the hand of the Lord in our work. We were able to share the restored gospel with lots of people, but whether they act on it or not is up to them. We had lots of fun P days and I got to live with one of my past companions for his last transfer. One P day we went to this place called blue pool it was crazy but good. We have been teaching some cool people and helping them come closer to their Savior. Paul is still on track to getting dunked which is hype.  Then I got transfer calls and I am staying in Brownsville for my last transfer. I am getting a new companion named Elder Palmer. Me and him had a blast. We worked hard and experienced alot....

Elder Barker - First Week!

 Logan was set apart as a full time missionary last Sunday September 18, 2022 by our Stake President in our home. It was a very special and spiritual experience. Our home has definitely benefited from the Spirit that accompanies a full time missionary. Home MTC is wonderful and a blessing to missionary and family. Here is his first letter: First Week! Hello, This first week has been great! It has taken a while to get used to the missionary standards, but I'm getting there. I was able to meet my companion and district on Monday. My companion is so awesome and we get along great. My district is also awesome, and super fun. You know home MTC has its perks, like getting to spend lots of time with my family, before I head our for 2 years, but 7 hours of zoom every day gets pretty tiring.
