Week 60 Mission Update!
Week 60 Nov 6-12, 2023
Hey guys! Sorry it's been so long since I have written. A lot has happened since I last wrote 😅
I guess to start I can talk about transfers. I was lowkey nervous for transfers because I was ready for a change. Luckily I got that change, and man it was a good one. I found out that was getting transfered to the Neah Kah nie branch, which happens to be right along the Oregon coast!! On top of that, I found out that I would be training a new missionary.
Last transfer was alright. The work was pretty slow in my area, and it was starting to take a toll on me. The highlight of last transfer was Dylan made it to the temple! It was so cool to see him progress on the covenant path, and be able to experience that joy with him. Also he called me yesterday, and told me he blessed the sacrament, went to a lesson with the Elders down there, and talked to his bishop about a mission! I am so grateful Heavenly Father let me help Dylan come closer to his Savior.
Now for a little bit about my current area and comp. I am training Elder Ernest he is from Salt Lake and likes pickleball. My area is so pretty! We literally drive by the ocean every single day. When me and Elder Ernest whitewashed in there wasn't really anything going on. That's probably because everyone they were teaching got baptized! We have 4 new converts in our area, and they are all awesome! It has been really fun getting to know the branch, they are few in number but not in faith that's for sure.
We have already seen a few miracles in our area. Two of the huge ones happened on Halloween. The first one happened while we were going to visit someone we thought was interested. He wasn't home but as we were walking back we saw someone outside, and naturally we had to go and talk to him. Turns out he works with members, and has thought something must be different about these guys. Boom thats all we needed, then we were in. We taught a mini restoration lesson, and gave him a Book of Mormon. The next miracle happened that night, as we were driving home from dinner. Our Branch president called us and asked if we wanted an early Christmas present, he told us that a granddaughter of a member was wanting to be baptized!
Overall the mission has been going pretty well, hopefully you all are doing great as well! President Nelson has said we can expect and ask for miracles, so I would highly recommend following his advice. I miss you all and hope you have a great week, and holiday season!
