Week 23 Emergency Room Visit, and New Apartment

Image
Logan.Barker@missionary.org   Hey guys! I hope you have had a great week! My week was pretty eventful. So normally Tuesdays are our packed days. We have 3 lessons usually, and other stuff usually comes up so it's packed. Anyway we were in comp study, and we were planning what we want to teach all of our friends, when we get this text that says any chance you could give me a ride to the emergency room, and of course it had to be from our friend Alan.  Anyway we get that text and kind of start freaking out, cause we can't give him a ride. Turns out it was not 911 worthy which was a good thing. So after we found that out, we started calling members and figuring out if any of them could give us a ride. We ended up finding someone, and it was a miracle because the person that was willing already knew Alan, so it wasn't weird or awkward when we picked him up. We got to his house and we were able to pick him up safely, and bring him to the emergency room. We dropped him off, and t...

Week 22 Weekly Email

Logan.barker@missionary.org Hey guys! I hope you have had a great week! My week has been pretty good. It started off with probably the best P day of my mission. Me and Elder Hamblin decided that we were becoming way to dominant in basketball, so we were gonna try something different. At a service project earlier in the week, we were told about this awesome hike close by so naturally we had to do it. Let me tell you guys it did not disappoint. It was nice to see lots of trees, and plants everywhere without thorns. On this hike we saw two waterfalls, it was a nice reminder of the beautiful earth God has given us. The rest of the week, the theme was definitely visits. Almost every day without fail, we made some visits. A couple visits in particular stood out. One visit was to someone we are teaching that we haven't seen for a while. So we decided one of the best ways to reach people is to "Sister Missionary it". That basically is just making them some food to bring over. Le...

Week 21 Transfers!

Logan.barker@missionary.org Hey guys! I hope you have had a great week. My week was a pretty average week. However this week we did have transfers. Luckily I am staying in Snow Peak! So at the end of this coming transfer I will have been in this area for 6 months. Also I am still comps with Elder Hamblin. Anyway to start off the week we went golfing again. However this time we just went to the driving range, and hey I definitely did better than last time. This week was pretty much a normal week. We taught Alan, and Ernie again, they are both so awesome, and it is so cool to see their faith grow. This week had a lot of service in it. We helped someone move, helped build a house, and helped clean out a backyard. They were all great, and were a huge help to the people we served. We made a lot of visits this week, and one of them payed off. I was on exchanges and we went to visit someone named Todd. Now this guy, we have been trying to contact the whole time I've been here, and this t...

Week 20 Basketball Games!

Logan.Barker@missionary.org Hey guys, this week was a pretty good week. On Monday I went golfing for the first time. We played best ball which means whoever hits the best shot, is the one we play. As a group we were able to complete 9 holes for par. Wednesday was Elder Hamblin's birthday, so we were able to throw him a party it was so fun. Also the lessons we taught that day we also fun. We played badminton and exploding kittens, with Ernie, that was super fun. We also got to have a great talk with Alan, and he gave us a vegetable tray. Anyway Wednesday night, we went and saw a basketball game. It was so fun, we went and saw a members son play, and the Dad lost his voice, so it was a pretty hype game. Friday we had zone council. Our stake president came and told us about the stake goals and stuff like that. He wants us in the background of members lives 2 times a day, because that will help them trust us more, and that will hopefully result in referrals. So moving forward we are ...
